Thigh lift surgery is a highly effective technique for removing loose skin, creating tight, toned legs and improving body contouring. The technique is of particular help for people who have undergone extreme weight loss and are now looking for a solution for eradicating loose skin.

Losing a lot of weight is not an easy journey and if you’re in the position of having achieved that goal, you should be feeling great and congratulating yourself. However, often following extreme weight loss, people unfortunately find the loose skin left behind even harder to get rid of than the weight itself. Despite a healthy diet and rigorous exercise regime, it can be impossible to resolve loose excess skin naturally. The skin on the thighs can be of particular issue and in such cases a surgical thigh lift is an incredibly effective solution.

Thigh lift surgery involves creating incisions to the top of the thigh, the skin is pulled upwards, stitched into the new position and excess skin is then removed. This can be performed either laterally – with a focus on the outer thighs and buttocks, medial – with a focus on the inner leg, or circumferential – which combines an inner thigh lift with a lower body lift to focus on the front, back, inner and outer thighs, as well as the buttocks, lower abdomen and lower back.

All approaches can be performed in conjunction with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), brachioplasty (arm lift) and liposuction, which combine brilliantly with a thigh lift to provide a wider sphere of body contouring and redefinition.

For many people, thigh lift surgery is the last step in a long journey to obtaining the body they’ve been working incredibly hard to achieve. It’s a very effective procedure, boasting instantly obvious results, and as such can be life changing for those who chose it.

Frequently asked questions

ABOUT THIGH LIFT SURGERY

+ What Is A Thigh Lift?

Thigh lift surgery is a highly effective cosmetic procedure to remove excess skin and provide a more toned, tightened appearance to the inner and outer thighs.

+ Will A Thigh Lift Get Rid Of Cellulite And Stretch Marks?

When combined with liposuction it can be very effective at removing stubborn pockets of fat on the thighs and as such cellulite. A thigh lift removes excess skin and tightens the remaining skin, which in combination both physically removes stretch marks and stretches the skin so reducing the appearance of any stretch marks that remain.

+ Does A Thigh Lift Leave Scars?

Whenever incisions are made as part of surgery there is a risk of scarring. The location of scars following thigh lift surgery depends on the technique employed and therefore the location of the incision. A lateral lift involves incisions to the upper hips, a medial lift to the inner groin and a circumferential to both the inner and outer thighs. Mr. Ahmad has over 30 years of surgical experience and is particularly skilled in leaving very little long term marks on the body following surgery.

+ Will Thigh Lift Surgery Remove The Saggy Skin Following Weight Loss?

Yes, thigh lift surgery is a highly effective solution for people who have undergone extreme weight loss and are now looking for a solution for the loose skin left behind. It can be combined with an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), brachioplasty (arm lift) and liposuction, which combine brilliantly with a thigh lift to provide a wider sphere of body contouring and redefinition.

SURGERY

How Is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed?

Thigh lift surgery involves creating incisions to the top of the thigh, the skin is pulled upwards, stitched into the new position and excess skin is then removed. This can be performed either laterally - with a focus on the outer thighs and buttocks, medial - with a focus on the inner leg, or circumferential - which combines an inner thigh lift with a lower body lift to focus on the front, back, inner and outer thighs, as well as the buttocks, lower abdomen and lower back.

How Long Does Thigh Lift Surgery Take?

The procedure takes between three to four hours.

How Painful Is Thigh Lift Surgery?

Generally speaking thigh lift surgery pain is tolerable and managed with pain control. Strong painkillers are required for the first few days and in most cases paracetamol is adequate after the first week.

How Will I Feel After The Procedure?

Postoperative swelling and mild bruising is inevitable. Generally it is tolerable and any discomfort is controlled with painkillers.

How Long Will I Be In Hospital?

An overnight stay is usually required. Mr. Ahmad will review you the morning after surgery and, if everything is satisfactory, discharge you from hospital normally by midday.

Are There Any Side Effects To The Operation?

The most common side effect is feeling sleepy for a few hours. Sometimes the anaesthetic makes you feel sickly, but usually for a short time only.

You may feel slightly bloated for a few days. This is often due to slight constipation caused by medication. A gentle laxative will help resolve this.
