Creation of Sub-mammary pocket for breast implant insertion

Sub-mammary pocket dissection for breast implant.

Breast augmentation is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedure in the world. Implant is either placed in the sub-mammary pocket or in sub-muscular pocket as dual plane. This video demonstrate meticulous technique of creating sub-mammary pocket with diathermy. In my opinion blunt dissection should not be used in the process of creating implant pocket as it only leads to potential short and long term complications. Once the dissection is completed, one must make sure that there are no bleeding vessels after dissection and this observation must be carried out when patients blood pressure is normal or near normal for that patient.
